This large Chinese shrub can reach 4metres each way and if you have the right aspect and enough space it certainly pays its way!
Its white lily of the valley style flowers are produced in midsummer and are beautifully fragrant with a musky scent. the dead flowers hang like copper bangles and the autumn foliage is often stunning shades of yellow and orange. this however isn’t the end of the show as a well established plant will have sinuous trunks with bark that could rival any Crepe Myrtle!
give it a semi-shaded or morning sun aspect in an acid soil enriched with ample organic matter.
