My favourite species is probably the one that is in flower at the moment! And C. repandum is just coming out as the spring approaches and so is my favourite at the moment. Its flowers are usually a strong carmine pink with long elegant curled petals and the perfume is divine, although it is best smelt from a prostrate position which I have to admit is getting harder to execute or get out of!
It like most species likes filtered light and is happy amongst the roots of deciduous shrubs or trees and certainly in my garden self-seeds prolifically even coming up in the gravel driveway!
The leaves are often beautifully marked with white and no matter how small your garden you should have 3 acres of these! I have plants in large tubes at $18.50.
