Osmanthus fortunei

This has to be one of the great perfumed shrubs and tough as they come. It flowers in the autumn and the tiny white blossoms perfume the surrounds with what I think is the scent of ripe apricots!

The foliage is rich green and somewhat holly like in the plants youth but as it ages the edges loose their serrated spiny edges and become smooth.

It will grow in sun or shade and will in time make a sizable shrub to 4 or 5 metres however it is also very prunable so can be cut back even to a stump and started again. It is also fairly drought tolerant and will grow well even in root infested aspects.

I have plants in 6″ pots for $18.50Osmanthus x fortunei
