This has to be one of the most sumptuous foliage plants around so if you have a cool moist aspect in the garden or even for a pot plant then perhaps this Asian beauty will find a home at your place. In case you think you know what it is but the name means nothing it was a Podophyllum.
It sends up individual leaves from its slowly creeping rhizome and they can be up to 30cms. or more across. These are boldly marked with brown which fades a bit as the season goes on but up until they die down are telling in the garden. The flowers pretty enough in themselves if somewhat strange looking are hidden under the leaves so don’t make much visual impact, but I don’t care! I have young divisions in 6″ pots at $28.50
