Pterocephalus perennis

This charming little ground hugging plant from Greece has been gracing my rock garden for many years and although I love it i have forgotten to propagate it so as to share it with others. Well I’ve done it now.

It will grow about 1 metre wide in time and its grey-green foliage is attractive and most of the summer it has heads of soft mauve-pink scabiosa like blooms that are followed by cute as a button fluffy seed heads, all in all a great plant.

It will grow in any well drained soil in full sun to part shade and will never get out of hand as so many ground covers can. I have plants in 6″ pots for $18.50.Pterocephalus perennis
